One of the foremost experiences in my life to date, my Parisian semester abroad has introduced me to a self that I have been fighting for a long time: one that is more attune to his own opinions and more receptive to worldly inputs. I attribute this to a series of self-provoked emotionally turbulent situations in which I was forced to be introspective. I experienced this awakening on three distinct scales: the city, its people, and a new friendship. The three coalesced into a truly qualitative assessment of myself and the work I intend to accomplish in my life.

The “European Romanticism Trilogy” of blogs will attempt to communicate the nature through which this transformation has occurred and, hopefully, the reader will be so inclined as to share her thoughts and experiences in the comments.
